My Personal Experience with My Sexual Health

My Nashville based concierge medicine practice places importance on a man’s sexual health. I am comfortable directly discussing your sexual function with you. I have also shared the chapters of a man’s health. I have had benign prostatic hypertrophy affecting my sexual function. I have diabetes which requires the use of medications for erectile dysfunction. I am on testosterone replacement treatment.

WHAT IS THE PROSTATE?

The prostate is an organ that surrounds the urethra (the tube from bladder to penis). The prostate is of universal importance to a man. You can get prostatic cancer. Your prostate commonly enlarges. Neglecting your prostate carries health and sexual risks.

WHY IS THE PROSTATE IMPORTANT?

Your prostate directly affects your sexuality. Your prostate can make you miserable with multiple trips to bathroom daily. Your prostate is at risk of cancer. Procedures on the prostate carry both benefit and risk.

WHAT ARE COMMON SURGICAL TREATMENTS FOR AN ENLARGED PROSTATE?

Surgical treatments for the prostate have dramatically increased in number and in quality. I have had a laser prostatectomy with no complications, and lifelong benefits. Again, note that all procedures have a range of outcomes, including some with complications.

WHAT ARE MEDICAL TREATMENTS FOR ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION?

I have used medications for erectile dysfunction. I commonly prescribe these medications. Used carefully, they will be a major asset to your sexual vitality. Like all medications, these medications do have complications and contraindications.

SHOULD YOU CONSIDER A PENILE IMPLANT?

If you choose an experienced surgeon who does penile implants all day every day (usually for year), a penile implant is reasonable to consider. However, even with the best prosthetic urologist, complications do occur, and you need a penile surgeon who is experienced with complications.

Please note that a penile implant is not indicated for everyone. With a penile implant, like all medical procedures, your individual circumstances require careful evaluation after you receive full informed consent.

The Prostate

I've always had great experiences there with Dr conway and all of his staff as well. I definitely recommend to anyone needing addiction treatment.  They've never made me feel judged, or looked down on me for anything. I can't say that about other local treatment clinics I've been too. This has been the only place that's worked for me.
